CHAOS IN TEJAS 2007Our friends in Texas are throwing this fest again, and since the old page when Prank was more involved with the fest was still coming up in google, We've gone ahead and updated it for this year's fest! Bouldin Creek Coffee house and cafe at 1501 S. 1st. They are open 7 am to midnight on weekdays / 9 to midnight on sat and sunday...the best breakfast w/ the best tofu scrambler and hashbrowns around... lunch and dinner too...vegan sloppy joe's and other stuff but for breakfast were the best around I think...almost everything is vegan and everything is vegetarian. and of course lots and lots of coffee!

They are an Indonesian restaurant where you can get all of the dishes
w/ tofu or
your choice of meat...and it's so damn good. The lunch special on the
weekdays is the best deal until 2:30 and the Sunday buffet is awesome
too.
The lunch special is $5.00 and comes w/ soup, fried banana rolls and
your
choice of a dish..the Sunday buffet is all you can eat and it's
$7.50...around dinner it's about $7.00-$9.00 for a dish but still

Right next door is a great Vietnamese coffee shop but I can't remember
the name but it's right next door.
Curra's is the best for vegi Mexican food: 614 East Oltorf the tamales there are the best around...3 kinds that are vegan and vegi bacon and sausage and all of the beans are lard free....made to order taco's with whatever you want on them and the best avocado margarita's ever...sounds weird but there SO good!
Mr. Natural on 1901 east Cesar Chavez is also good for Vegi Mexican Food. 512-477-5228 All vegetarian,try the tofu miga's and all of there baked goods and cake's are vegan too...closes early though..
Polvos at 2004 South 1st isn't strictly Vegetarian but they also have awesome vegi fajita's and great margarita's and there black salsa is the best salsa in town.....
Whole Foods at 601 north lamar on the corner of 6th and lamar...a 20 or 30 minute walk from the fest and across the street from Waterloo Records. It's the closest Health Food store to the fest.
Wanfu 2400 E. Oltorf St. by Java Noodle. This chinese place is open till about 4am, the tofu in garlic sauce is worth the trip alone.
If you want something close to the fest then go to Marakesh Cafe which is a good middle eastern restaurant which is only about a 15 minute walk from Emo's. It's on 906 Congress Ave and their # is 512-476-7735. I'm pretty sure they close at 10pm...they are really the only close thing that's good to eat and a couple doors down if you want coffee you can stop in at Little City Coffee House and their address is 916 congress and their # is 512-476-2489 and they are open till midnight too.
